30-40% of all vehicles will be required to have their smog inspections performed by a TEST ONLY STATION. Foreign Affair is a Test and Repair Station. We can not perform Test Only smog inspections. We can refer you to a competent Test Only site.

The Enhanced Smog Check test measures an emission that was not measured during the previous program. Using a dynamometer, a treadmill for cars, NOx is now measured. It is not uncommon for a vehicle that previously did not have problems passing the Smog Test, to exceed the NOx standards.

Fortunately, Foreign Affair is well prepared to handle failed vehicles. As mentioned above, we are a licensed Test and Repair facility with our own dyno (dynamometer). Our technicians are periodically updated and trained in the latest test and diagnosis procedures. We have direct access to the manufacturer databases: we know which components have extended warranty coverage or recalls.
